Psalm 26:12. Now I stand on solid ground, and I will publicly praise the Lord.
We arrived last night late due to some issues at customs. When we arrived at Quinta Jardin, the whole place was dark and there were strange cars in the parking lot that Annette did not recognize. When we were out of the van, there was a great “surprise” and the lights revealed many friends come to wish Annette a happy birthday. And of course to welcome us here. It was a lovely visit and after some cake and many best wishes, the guests kissed everyone good night, and with many “hola”s and “Buenas nochas”, they went home. The men had already taken our luggage across the way and so, with a plan to meet at 7am for breakfast, we went over, picked up our luggage and went off to our rooms. I had not been expecting a room to myself, I thought we would be sharing. But because our team is 7(male and female)including Annette & Don Vickers, we were each given our own room. Don & Annette, Sharon, Paula, myself, Kurt and Dave.

It is a lovely Saturday morning. I awoke with the dogs barking as they were rounded up and put in their cages. The dogs roam free at night guarding the place but are kept in cages during the day. There is much activity in the kitchen and I had difficulty offering assistance since the cook does not understand English. So, with a quick buenas Dias and the words cafe, I was directed to find the coffee already made. A welcome morning sight to me.
Thank you to all of you who prayed for a safe journey. Once again, Avianca airlines was professional and kind and the food was very good and substantial. Kudos to all.
Breakfast this morning was porridge, papaya, toast, pb and jam. Lovely.
